He gets three apples of love and every time she starts to catch up, he throws the apple back and she follows it. In the second story, Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena think they are the fairest. Zeus doesn’t want a war between the gods so he has Paris decide.

The trees give the golden apples.

The central conflict is figuring out who is the fairest god.

Paris gives the apple to Aphrodite for a beautiful wife.
